Scosche Industries' Bluelife Product Wins iLounge Best of Show Award at Macworld (press release)Scosche Industries, a leader of mobile electronics aftermarket accessories, wins iLounge Best of Show award for its Bluetooth wireless interface for iPod and MP3 players (#IPBCK) for aftermarket brand-name head units and home audio systems. The Bluetooth interface allows digital streaming audio from and iPod or MP3 player as well as hands-free cell phone capabilities.
Oxnard, CA (PRWEB) January 20, 2006 -- Scosche Industries, a leader of mobile electronics aftermarket accessories, is pleased to announce the patent-pending Bluetooth wireless interface for iPod and MP3 players (#IPBCK) for aftermarket brand-name head units and home audio systems is a winner of the prestigious 2006 iLounge Best of Show award this week at MacWorld in San Francisco. Only thirteen products were chosen to receive this coveted award. The iLounge Best of Show award marks the fourth award the innovative interface has won including the CES Innovations Award, the Popular Mechanics’ Editor’s Choice Award and the General Motors Best New Accessory award at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Associations) Show. iLounge editors stated, “After seeing literally hundreds of new iPod accessories on the show floors at both CES and Macworld Expo in the last week, the Editors of iLounge have selected thirteen new products for its 2006 “Best of Show” Awards. The products we picked are representative of an increasingly wide variety of worthwhile new iPod toys and tools, but also stand out from a recently cluttered and familiar pack.
Congratulations to the companies and teams that developed these products.” They continue to discuss their selection of Scosche’s product, “iLounge’s editors have been less than fully thrilled with most of the car audio integration solutions we’ve seen, mostly because of their lack of universal compatibility and expense. Scosche has taken a new direction with in-car integration, using Bluetooth modules to let your iPod travel wirelessly from in-home use to in-car use. Add one of the company’s Bluetooth receivers to your car - installation required - then attach the transmitter to your iPod, and add another receiver to your home stereo. Your iPod will automatically connect with your car’s stereo when outdoors, home stereo when indoors, with full control available from its screen.”
Already available at retailers nationwide, the Scosche transmitter connects directly to the headphone output connector of the iPod/MP3 unit and transmits to a Bluetooth receiver connected to the auxiliary input of a vehicle’s head unit or home audio system. Unlike other “wired” FM transmitters or RF remotes, Scosche’s Bluetooth wireless technology transmits digital continuous streaming audio with sound CD quality to your car or home receiver. Additionally, Scosche has added hands-free cellular functions to its BlueLife interface for Bluetooth cell phones allowing users to listen to their music and answer cell phone calls hands-free in their cars. “We are honored to receive this coveted award from iLounge,” said Kas Alves, vice president marketing and sales, Scosche Industries.
“Scosche has been synonymous with innovative car audio accessories and we are pleased to offer another first to market product with our Bluetooth wireless technology.”Scosche’s Bluetooth wireless technology features a wireless range of 30 feet and a fifteen hour transmitter lithium-ion battery life. It is Bluetooth 1.2 compliant for continuous streaming audio and can pair with an unlimited number of receivers allowing users to enjoy music without wired limitations. Scosche’s innovative Bluetooth wireless technology is designed as a family of products with flexibility that builds from its receiver/transmitter kit.
The IUBCKH, designed for all iPods (3rd – 5th generation, mini and Nano) and a universal case for MP3 players, will work with aftermarket head units with RCA inputs. For those who like flexibility with their music, the Bluetooth interface will allow a passenger in the front or back seat to control the iPod or MP3 unit playing through the vehicle’s head unit. Included in the vehicle kit are a 12volt car charger, rechargeable transmitter, and the necessary cables for a simple installation. The hands-free cell phone function includes a microphone that allows users to answer Bluetooth cell phone calls without having to touch their phone.
The microphone is easily installed on a sun visor, virtually hidden in view. As a call comes through to a Bluetooth enabled cell phone, a user can either manually answer the call using the push-to-talk button included on the microphone, or a call can be automatically answered. Once the call is answered, the music mutes, and users will hear the caller through their car speakers. When the call is complete, the call is disconnected, and the music will automatically turn back on.Using a home audio/video system, a user can add a home receiver kit (#UBR), or a user can purchase a Bluetooth wireless kit just for the home (#IPBHK for iPods or UBHK for MP3). The Scosche wireless Bluetooth interface in the home will allow anyone to listen to his or her iPod or MP3 player with digital sound CD quality through his or her home audio system.
The transmitter can “pair” to an unlimited number of receivers so UBR receivers can be added anywhere you want your music to be. The Scosche receiver is powered by either an included 110AC power supply for home use or the included 12volt adapter for automotive use.As with all of Scosche’s Bluetooth wireless technology, the UBR features a wireless range of 30 feet, and provides digital CD quality sound. It is Bluetooth 1.2 compliant for continuous streaming audio.
Multiple receivers can be added to any stereo with RCA inputs so iPod or MP3 payers can be used wirelessly anywhere you want your music.Scosche’s Bluetooth wireless technology is available at specialty retailers across the country. The primary interface includes the necessary cables for plug-n-play capability. The car kit for iPod/MP3 kits (#IUBCKH) retail at $199.99, and the home kits (#UBR and IPBHK or UBHK) retail at $99.99 and $199.99 respectively.
